Right now, there are over 380,000 children on the streets of Kenya. Together, we can change that.
Mission
Rescuing street youth in Kenya, restoring their well-being, and empowering them to transform their communities and reunite with their families.
Vision
To restore and empower street-connected youth and their families, towards wholeness.
Why
In Kitale, Kenya, 80% of those living on the streets are over 15. We are passionate about providing life-changing services for these teenagers and young adults.
Our holistic family-based program strives to bring about permanent and transformative change in the lives of street-connected youth and their families. By addressing the underlying causes that lead children to the streets, our model focuses on fostering economic opportunities and promoting family preservation.
Over the course of 30 days, our social workers build trust-based relationships with street youth, establishing a foundation for mutual engagement and lasting change.
Restore
The three-month transitional program provides a Christ-centered environment with caring support, counseling, life-skills training, and spiritual growth, helping youth heal, set goals, and discover their identity and purpose.
Empower
After months of building relationships and completing rehabilitation, the boys transition into education or employment with individualized plans that equip them to step into futures filled with dignity, hope, and opportunity.
Reintegrate
Research shows that children thrive best in family care, which is why our social workers focus on reconnecting and rebuilding family relationships through home-tracing, counseling, and regular follow-up visits to ensure lasting stability.
Life at home was hard, with barely enough food and no money for school fees. At the age of 14, James ran away hoping to find something better, oblivious to the reality of how brutal life on the street can be. Over the next 3 years, he found himself deeply ingrained in the culture and life of the streets of Kitale, Kenya. He would experience violence, maltreatment, develop an addiction to sniffing glue to numb the pain, sleeping on the cold pavement with little to no food. He wanted to return home but he feared being accepted after running away without warning. James’ life has now been restored and taken a 180 degree turn since living on the streets.
Join our monthly giving group, Team180, to support more boys like James.
Empowering teenagers to find hope and healing through Christ, and providing them with the necessary tools and opportunities to lift themselves and their families out of poverty.
